A typical Formula 1 weekend includes several sessions over three days:

Sprint weekends

Six of the season's 22 races are sprint weekends — China, Miami, Canada, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Singapore. During these weekends a practice session is replaced by a shorter sprint race on Saturday.


The 2026 F1 season

The 2026 season is a historic one with entirely new technical regulations — new engines, active aerodynamics and 100% sustainable fuel. Three new manufacturers have also joined the grid: Audi (who took over Sauber), Cadillac and Ford.

Reigning champions: Lando Norris (drivers) and McLaren-Mercedes (constructors).

The season features 22 Grand Prix from March to December, with Madrid making its debut on the calendar.

The 2026 season brings the biggest rule changes in many years:

  • Active aerodynamics — front and rear wings move dynamically during driving
  • New engine — MGU-H removed, more powerful MGU-K with 470 hp of electrical output
  • Overtake Mode replaces DRS — drivers can deploy extra power within one second of a competitor
