What is VOD?
VOD stands for Video on Demand. It's essentially a library of movies, series and documentaries that you can watch whenever you like, without having to wait for something to be broadcast on a specific channel at a specific time.
With uPlay you get access to one of the largest VOD libraries on the market — over 260,000 titles available around the clock.

How do you find VOD in your app?
Navigation varies slightly depending on which app you use, but the principle is the same:
TiviMate
- Open the app and select Movies or Series in the main menu
- Browse categories or use the search function
- Select a title and press play
UHF (Apple TV)
- Select VOD or On Demand in the menu
- Filter by genre, language or popularity
- Select a title and start playback
IPTV Smarters Pro
- Select Movies or Series in the bottom menu
- Browse available titles
- Select and play
Tips
Can't find a specific film? Use the search function in the app and search for the original English title — this gives the best results in most apps.
The difference between VOD and catch-up
It's easy to confuse VOD and catch-up since both let you watch content after it has aired. Here's the simple difference:
- VOD — a permanent library of movies and series that is always available
- Catch-up — the ability to rewatch programmes that recently aired on a live TV channel, available for a limited time (usually 1–7 days)
A film in the VOD library is always there. A programme in catch-up disappears after a few days.
Is the VOD library updated?
Yes. uPlay's VOD library is continuously updated with new content. New films are added regularly and series are updated when new seasons are released. You don't need to do anything — the next time you open the app there will be new titles to discover.
Frequently asked questions

No, uPlay is a streaming-based service. All content is streamed directly and cannot be downloaded for offline viewing.
Why can't I find all the films I search for?
The VOD library is enormous but doesn't cover everything that exists. Availability depends on licensing agreements and rights. Looking for a specific title that's missing? Contact our support and we'll look into the possibilities.
Can I watch VOD content abroad?
Yes, the VOD library is available wherever you are in the world. See our guide on uPlay abroad for more information.
What's the best way to search the VOD library?
